Evan, Emma and Faith – Part 1

Ever since I had run into Emelie at the triplets’ birthday party, she had been on my mind. My Mom had invited Emelie, not knowing that she and I had split up our senior year of high school. I thought Emelie was “the one,” but she had gone back to her old boyfriend, Dwayne Wolff. He was a jerk, and I don’t know what she saw in him. My heart had shattered into a thousand pieces. Emelie was my first love, and no woman since has held a candle to her. I was shocked to see her, and I wasn’t exactly welcoming. Emelie looked a little taken aback at my reaction, and our brief conversation replayed over and over in my mind.

“Look, I’m sorry about the way things worked out between us. I never meant to hurt you, Evan. High school was a long time ago. I hoped by now we could be friends.”

I was dumbstruck at the time, so I said, “I don’t know, Emelie. I’ll think about it. That’s the best I can do right now.”

Even now, as I try to work on my novel, I find myself writing about Emelie instead of the female lead. I mutter to myself, “Dammit, I’m gonna have to rewrite this whole chapter. It doesn’t make any sense.”

My cell phone rings, and I immediately recognize the number. It’s the Van Gould residence. Even though I deleted Emelie’s contact info, I still have her number permanently etched in my memory. My palms start to sweat. Maybe she misdialed or it’s her brother Tristan. On the third ring, I finally answer the phone.

“Hi, Evan. It’s me, Emelie.”

“Hey, Emelie.” God, just hearing her say my name again gives me chills.

“Um, we’re having a pool party today at 3:00 … and I wanted to invite you. Are you free?”

My heart starts beating faster, and my mind is racing. Emelie just invited me to her house. She wants to see me? Wait, she said she wanted to be friends. If that’s all this is, I don’t think I can do it. Dammit, Emelie. Why are you doing this to me?

“Evan? Are you still there?”

“Oh. Yeah. Sorry.”

“Well, will you come? You don’t have to go in the pool. I know you hate the water. Still, I’d like to see you.”

She actually said it … she wants to see me … but as a friend or … no, don’t even go there. “OK, I guess. What time again?”

“3:00 … and Evan?”

“Wear your swim trunks. No one else has to know you’re afraid of the water. It’s our little secret.”

Hmmph. She kept my secret after all this time? Being hydrophobic isn’t very ‘manly,’ so I’m not mad that she hasn’t broadcasted it. “OK. See you in a little while.”

“I’m looking forward to it.”

“Bye, Emelie.”

“Bye, Evan.”

I’ve barely hung up the phone and my mind is already wandering. Emelie Van Gould … at a pool party … so she’ll be wearing a swimsuit … hopefully, a bikini that shows off that hot body of hers. Damn. I could use a cold shower. I already showered when I got up this morning, so I decide to take a quick bath instead. If I could avoid water altogether, I would, but I like to smell clean, and so I deal with it. Besides, Emelie likes the way I smell right after a shower or bath. Emelie … she’s such a contradiction … a smokin’ hot body that’s cool to the touch. Emelie’s the only vampire I ever dated. I recall the feel of her smooth skin, the way her long blonde hair cascades down her back and the slight lemony smell of her shampoo.

She wants me to wear swim trunks. I’m glad I’ve kept up my workouts. I want her to see what she’s been missing. God, I want her. Bad. If she wants to be “just friends,” I’ll be crushed. If I can’t be with Emelie, then I can’t be around her. I’m just gonna put myself out there and see what happens. Otherwise, if she wanted me back and I didn’t take the chance, I’d regret it forever.

It’s nearly 3:00, and I hop in my car and drive over to Emelie’s house. The Van Goulds are rich, and their house is huge. I see Tristan on the way in.

“Hey, Evan. Haven’t seen you in ages.”

“Hey, Tristan. How’s it going?”

“I’m doing all right. Emelie’s in the backyard, and there’s beer in the coolers if you’re interested.”

“Thanks, man.”

I walk around back and spot Emelie. My pulse quickens. She’s wearing a barely-there black bikini. Damn, she looks fine. Down, boy. Play it cool. Let her make the first move.

Emelie waves at me, and I head in her direction like a moth to a flame. “Hey, Emelie.”

“Hey, Evan. I’m really glad you came. Ever since I saw you at your Mom’s party, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you,” Emelie said sincerely. She always spoke her mind … one of the many things I loved about her.

“Yeah? Me, too.” Wait. Did I just say that out loud? So much for playing it cool.

“You’ve been thinking about yourself, too?” Emilie grinned.

“Nice, Em. Real nice,” I smiled back at her. It was just like Emelie to try and break the tension with a smart-alec remark.

“Mmm … I love it when you call me Em. Just like old times, Ev,” Emelie responded dreamily.

“Yeah.” My mind wanders back to the past, when Emelie was my everything. I want her back in my life.

“Can we try to forget about the past and start over?”

“That depends. What did you have in mind?” Please, Em, please don’t play the friends card.

“I miss you, Ev. I was young and stupid in high school, and I didn’t know how good I had it when I was with you. I miss what we had. I miss … us.”

She’s not being flippant. Good Lord, I think she means it. She wants me back?

I become acutely aware of her lips and how much I want to kiss them. I realize I still haven’t said a word, and Emelie … my Em … looks concerned.

“Em … I … don’t know what to say.”

I wrap my arms around Emelie’s waist and pull her close to me, feeling her cool, soft skin. She puts her arms around my shoulders. We look into each other’s eyes, and I let her see the answer that I couldn’t say out loud. I still love her … my Em. I never stopped loving her.

I kiss Emelie softly, savoring this long-awaited moment and the taste of her lips. She kisses me back. “Mmm,” Emilie moans softly, “God, how I’ve missed your kisses.” Then she took in a deep breath, saying, “And you smell so good. You always do.”

“Em, if we’re gonna do this, we have to be exclusive. It’s all or nothing with me.”

“Ev, I want you and only you,” she says sweetly.

There it is … Emilie’s hopeless romantic side. I’m insanely attracted to her … they say opposites attract. But this is the part of Emelie that draws me in every time. She’s got me right where she wants me … right where I want to be. I’m not romantic by nature, but Emelie makes me that way.

“Then you’ve got me, Em.” This is really happening. I decide to go for broke. “What do you say we go somewhere a little more private … say, my place?”

“Sure. Sounds good. Let me just throw some clothes on over my suit. I’ll be right back.” When Emelie was ready, I drove us to my place. I forget to mention that Emma, Faith and Gavin live with me, but I’m sure they won’t bother us.

I give Emelie a quick tour of the downstairs, and we end up in the kitchen at the back of the house. I can’t resist any longer, so I pull Em tightly to me and kiss her passionately. Her soft hair still smells like lemons, and she feels like a cool glass of lemonade against my lips. My desire for her is like an unquenchable thirst. We end up making out for a while, and I didn’t even notice Faith come in the kitchen until I hear her clear her throat and say, “Get a room, you two!”

I released Emelie from our lip-lock, and we both just smiled at each other. Yep, that’s the plan, Faith. We’re just warming up.

Faith was cooking hot dogs in the microwave, and I was starving. So, I decided to have one. As a vampire, Emelie doesn’t eat hot dogs, but she had grabbed a plasma juice before she left home, so she was all set for a while.

Emelie said, “I’m gonna take a dip in the pool while you guys eat. That’s OK, right, Ev?”

“Of course it is. Make yourself at home. There’s a bathroom around the corner, and you can leave your clothes in there while you swim.”

Faith and I were sitting at the table eating our hot dogs. Once Emelie was out of ear shot, Faith said, “Ooh … looks like someone’s getting lucky tonight.” I just smiled and took another bite.

“Seriously, Evan … Emilie, again? Isn’t she the one who dumped your ass in high school?”

“Nice, Faith. Real classy as always. Lower your voice.”

“Fool me once … shame on you. Fool me twice … shame on me. Isn’t that what they say?”

“My love life isn’t your concern, Faith.” I can see Gavin smile and shake his head out of the corner of my eye. I know he has my back.

When I finish eating, I start heading over to the piano, but I see Emelie come out of the bathroom in her bikini and I’m distracted. So, I watch her instead.

Emelie asks, “Anyone want to join me for a swim?”

I know Emma’s as afraid of the water as I am, so she gets up without even touching her hot dog, looks down and walks away, muttering, “Uh-uh.” Gavin says, “Not me. I’m still eating.” Faith just stares at Emelie. I don’t know what her problem is.

All of a sudden, Faith grabs her stomach and starts moaning like she’s in pain.

The next thing I know, Faith has her hand over her mouth like she’s about to hurl. Emma says, “Well, there goes my appetite. Geez, Faith.” Then Faith bolts to the bathroom.

While waiting for Emelie to finish her swim, I play a couple tunes on the piano. Making music comes naturally to me, so it helps me relax.

Emelie comes back inside and walks over towards me. Her bikini is still soaking wet. Damn, she looks hot.

I get up and pull her into my arms saying, “Here. Let me dry you off,” as I hold her tight against me. She smiles at me, her baby blue eyes lighting up the room.

I kiss Emelie, softly at first, then with increasing passion. Soft moans escape her lips, deepening my desire for her. I want her. Now.

“Em,” I whispered, “Do you want to spend the night?” I can’t mask my desire for her, and I’m sure it’s written all over my face.

“Mm-hmm. I’d like that.”  Yes!

I take Emelie’s hand and lead her upstairs to my room. The anticipation of being with Emelie again is exhilarating. When we get behind closed doors, I take off my jacket and pull my sweater over my head. Emelie untucks my shirt and runs her hands underneath it, rubbing my chest and abs.

“Mmm, Ev, you’re still in great shape. I’ve wanted to do that ever since you walked into my backyard.” I unbutton my shirt and take it off, giving her full access and then remove my jeans and boots, leaving me in just my boxer briefs. Em’s still in her bikini, but not for long. We get comfy on the bed.

“There’s something I’ve wanted to do since I saw you this afternoon, too.”

Emelie smiled and said flirtatiously, “Is that right? What on earth could that be?”

“Actually, it’s quite a long list of somethings, Em. It could take all night. I should probably just show you instead.”

“We’d better get started then, Ev,” she said with a coy smile.

Morning came all too quickly, but I was grateful that neither of us had to be at work until the afternoon. Emelie and I both worked in the music industry. I had just been promoted to Roadie, not exactly a Hit Movie Composer yet, but I was working my way up slowly, learning my trade.

After having gotten very little sleep the night before, my shift at the Deja View Theater seemed longer than usual. At the end of it, I walked out the back door and let out a big yawn. Then I stretched, and as I did, I thought about why I was tired, and it put a smile on my face. Em … my sweet Em had come back to me. I couldn’t wait to see her again.

Three months have passed since I had my first bout of morning sickness. I’m officially in my second trimester, and the doctor said the baby and I are doing just fine. I guess it’s OK to start telling people now. I might as well start with Emma. She’s probably noticed my clothes are getting a little tight. I can’t zip my skinny jeans any more. I picked up one maternity outfit so far. I guess I’ll have to start wearing it today.

I look around the house for Emma and find her in the basement practicing her trick shot on the pool table. We’re not exactly best buddies, but she’s the only other woman in the house, and I want a practice run before I tell Lew.

“Hey, Emma. Guess what?”

“What, Faith?”

“I’m not just getting fat. I’m pregnant.”

“Oh my God, Faith. Are you happy about that?”

Faith shrugs and says, “I’m OK with it.”

“OK, then. Congratulations! Have you told Lew yet?”

“Not yet. I want to, but I don’t want to stop by the house since Dad might be there, too. Is it weird to be dating my Dad’s roommate?”

“Not to me, Faith, but then again, who am I to judge? At least Lew never dated Mom,” Emma laughed.

“I know. Does Mom or your Dad know about Quidel?”

“Not yet, but I’m bound to run into them at some point. Moonlight Falls is a pretty small town.”

“Do you wanna feel my belly? I suppose everybody’s gonna wanna do that now.”

“Yeah, if it’s OK with you. You’re not showing much yet. Your baby bump is still pretty small.” Emma gingerly rubbed my belly.

“OK. You can stop handling the merchandise now.” Emma laughed and pulled her hand back. “Lew should be at work, so I’m gonna head over to the fire station to break the news to him. Wish me luck.”

“You don’t need luck, Faith. Lew loves you. I’m sure he’ll be happy about the baby.”

I drove to the fire station and spotted Lew pretty quickly. He walked over as soon as he saw me. Lew was wearing his firefighter’s uniform. He looked so sexy in those red pants and suspenders with that black T-shirt hugging his brawny frame. I always wanted to jump his bones when he wore that uniform.

“Hey, babe. Isn’t this a pleasant surprise. What’s the occasion?”

I grabbed him and planted a big kiss on him. He protested a bit, saying, “Hey, easy there, babe. What if the Chief sees us?”

“Lew, there’s something I need to tell you.”

“What is it, babe? You’re making me nervous.”

“I’m … pregnant.”

Lew’s golden eyes were as wide as saucers. “You are? Holy cow … I’m gonna be a Dad?”

Lew looked awestruck as he reached down and rubbed my belly. “My baby’s in there?”

“Yep. What do you think about that?”

“Oh, babe, I think it’s the best news ever!” Lew said as he pulled me into a warm embrace.

“Come and hang out with me a while. My shift’s almost over. We can cuddle on the couch and watch TV.”

We watched TV for a few minutes and then, when no one was around, Lew ran his hand protectively over my belly and kissed me. Between seeing Lew in his uniform and my pregnancy hormones running amok, I responded hungrily to Lew’s kisses, and we made out. All the while, Lew was rubbing my belly gently and lovingly.

When our lips parted for a moment, I whispered, “Why don’t you come back to my place, and we can finish what we started.”

Lew said huskily, “Sounds good, babe. I just need one more of your sweet kisses for the road.” I happily obliged.

A few months have passed, and I’m in my third trimester now. I’m craving waffles. I never learned how to cook, but I figured it can’t be that hard. So, I decided to give it a try.

“Hey, Evan. I’m making waffles. Want some?”

Evan just laughed and said, “No, thanks. I think I’ll just grab some juice.”

“Are you saying you don’t trust my cooking?”

“I’m not up for any experimental food this morning. Good luck, though. I got some things I need to do before I head out to work.”

I gave it my best shot, but all I ended up with was burnt waffles. By now, it’s noon, and I’m ravenous.

Luckily, Emma comes into the kitchen and starts making goopy carbonara for lunch. Emma’s a pretty decent cook, and it smells awesome.

As soon as it’s ready, I grab a plate and stuff my face. I can’t seem to shovel the food into my mouth fast enough.

Emma says, “I’m glad you like your lunch, Faith, but your table manners are still as disgusting as always.”

I’m due to have the baby any day now, so we all decide to stick close to home and hang out together. Evan and Emma play a game of pool.

Gavin and I play shuffleboard.

I was having fun and beating the pants off Gavin.

“Uh-uh-uh, Faith. No cheating! I caught you red-handed this time.”

“What do you mean, I can’t cheat? That takes all the fun out of it.” Once we finished our game, I hit the sack. Being pregnant was sucking all the energy out of me lately.

Whoa! What the hell was that?!? I got up once the excruciating pain in my belly subsided for a moment. Then another wave came over me again. Contractions — l was in labor. I got dressed and took a taxi to the hospital, calling Lew on the way. I wanted my boyfriend by my side when our baby was born.

Lew said, “I’m on my way, babe!” and he rushed over to the hospital. He came into the delivery room with me and we heard the exciting news together — “Looks like twins!”

Our baby boy was born Neurotic, and he Loves the Cold. We named him Jace.

Our baby girl was born Neurotic and Evil. I guess this apple didn’t fall too far from the tree. We named her Amy.

Surprisingly, both the twins resembled my side of the family in hair and eye color. Maybe they’d come to resemble Lew a little more as they got older. Either way, they’re adorable. Jace’s blonde hair is just like my Mom’s. Amy’s even blonder than me and reminds me of my Dad. Grandpa Keith I wonder what he’d think of that.

Author’s note: I had to split this update into two parts because I have 100 pictures I want to use. When I picked up the storyline on this household, Faith was in a steady relationship with Lew Garoo and already pregnant with his baby. Lew Garoo was originally a werewolf, but for some reason, he ended up human in this save. Emma was in a steady relationship with Quidel Blackhawk. (I know … shocker, right? Don’t tell Jill.) These were both as a result of Twallan’s Story Progression. As for Evan and Emelie, well, she did call and invite him to her pool party, but I took over from there. Emelie is, in fact, a vampire, however, her skin tone reverted to that of a caucasian human. She’ll be back in all her pasty-white goodness in Part 2. You haven’t seen the last of them yet. Oh, and Emma and Quidel are awfully cute together. Just sayin’. 😉

    • Glad you liked it! I’ve been dying to get inside Evan’s head in particular since I haven’t written from a man’s point of view until now. I had a good time with him lusting after Emilie. More on that in Part 2. 😉

  1. Amazing update! Firstly, I have to start by saying Evan is so handsome. He’s like the sim version of David Giuntoli *swoons*. Adorable that he got back together with Emelie – I’ve been rooting for them since ‘The Break-up’! How funny, to see a fairy and a vampire in a relationship, though!

And Emma! WHAT THE HELL?! Twallan’s SP is obviously lacking a moral compass these days! It’s lovely to see Faith bringing in a third generation. Jill’s a granny again! I love the rugged werewolf boyfriend, although the name ‘Lew Garoo’ makes me laugh a little! You really make me want to play Supernatural when I read this. I want werewolves and vampires and fairies in my legacy! Alas, I merely have ghosts thus far…

I want to say THANK YOOOOU for my X-mas present! I have no idea how to navigate the Sims 3 site, so I hope you didn’t think I was being ignorant! It’s official! Phoenix is going to be a surfer!

    • Aww, thanks! I adore Evan. He’s always been one of my faves. David Giuntoli, huh? I can totally see that! *swoons*

Hey, don’t blame Emma (or Twallan). There are only so many eligible bachelors in MF, and they’re not related whatsoever. Besides, Quidel’s hot! (I’ll bet they’d make gorgeous babies.) I think Twallan made my life easier and the story more interesting by playing matchmaker for me. I wouldn’t have had the guts to pair Emma with a previous partner of Jill’s. 😉

You’re very welcome! I didn’t think you were being ignorant, silly. You’re far too nice for that. Enjoy it!

  2. *Must mention I love Evan’s personality as well as his looks. His second guessing is adorable and I love him. You wrote him so well, I was instantly attached!

    -End of epic commentary-

    • Thanks! I loved getting inside Evan’s head and writing from a man’s perspective. It’s a different mindset that was so fun to explore. I’m attached to Ev, too, so that means a lot to me.

      P.S. I LOVE the epic commentary! 😀

  3. Yay, finally caught up after like three days. *Follows * Just wanna say that I love this challenge & your writing it. XD Evan is adorable, btw.

    • Yay — I love new readers! Welcome. Thanks for following and for your kind comments. Don’t you just love being able to read chapter after chapter when you find a new blog? I know I do, and it’s a cycle I keep repeating. I have a lot of catching up to do on a few blogs I recently added to my reading list before I can add another. But, I will! Please feel free to provide feedback along the way. I do love getting to know my readers and what they’d like to see more or less of! 😀

    • Yep, believe me, I was surprised when I found out Faith was already pregnant. As for having twins, I think Faith may have had the Fertility LTR, though I’m not certain.

There’s more on Evan & Emelie in Part 2. I’ll be interested to hear if you still feel the same about Emelie then. I never know how readers will react to the characters as I’ve written them, so I love getting feedback. Thanks for reading and commenting!

    • Thanks! The Fertility LTR really increases your chance of having twins. It doesn’t guarantee it, though. For some reason, Faith was a single birth, even though Jill had the LTR by then. The game likes to keep us guessing. 😉 Good luck!
